Reggie Abercrombie – CF BR TR
Houston Astros
Abercrombie can really fly but owns a long swing that produced 123 strikeouts in 386 MLB at bats. The Astros claimed him off waivers from Florida, sent him to Round Rock (AAA) and brought him up when Carlos Lee went down. The big range factors in 2007 and 2008 are due to a lot of plays in limited innings, but he really was amazing in those innings. He’s where Corey Patterson was a few years ago – turns 28 this summer and is running out of time. Batting .300 last year might get Abercrombie one more shot, and if he was interested in being a fifth outfielder, he could hang around for a few more seasons.
